Stay in Resort-Style Hotels

Generally most people stay in resort-style and upscale hotels because they enjoy the luxury amenities provided on the premises. Many vacationers book their main accommodations at a resort stay because they like the atmosphere of having such things as a spa, big swimming pools, bars, choice of on-site restaurants, room service, groomed beaches, and whatever other pampered activities the resort may advertise.

In the historical port city of Veracruz, there are several very nice upscale resort-style hotels. Some of them are located right on the Gulf of México with their own sandy beaches, some are located right in the center of the city, and some are found near the huge convention center and modern shopping areas. You can enjoy these luxury hotels and their facilities with the option to venture out on ½ day and full day excursions to explore the local area. And at the end of each day trip, you will be escorted back to your comfortable hotel away from the local culture of the region.

Overnight in Smaller Hotels on our Relaxed Cultural Immersion Vacations & Active Multi-Sport Adventure Trips

Once outside the major city of Veracruz, you will mostly find smaller family-owned or locally owned 2-3 star hotel accommodations. They consist of simple rooms with basic amenities; hot water showers, firm beds, clean sheets, air conditioning, and sometimes there may be a small swimming pool. These types of inexpensive accommodations can also be found in the city of Veracruz.

Yes, you may see a cute gecko or two on your hotel walls running around.
Remember, it's all part of the "cultural immersion" aspect of our trips.

Most of our trips are designed for you to stay right in the center of small Veracruz towns so you can really get a feel for what it is like to live there. When you step outside the hotel you are immediately immersed in the everyday life of that town. Each day you will find yourself exploring the local area with your personal tour guide and mostly using your hotel only as a place to keep your clothes, take a shower, rest, and sleep. On these trips, the real adventures are found outside your hotel and not within.

Sleep in Simple Rustic Cabañas

Want to really rough it? We can set you up in very rustic, back-to-nature accommodations. You won't find air conditioned rooms in these cabañas, only a ceiling fan or floor model fan. You have your choice of large dormitory-style cabañas with multiple bunk beds and smaller ones to hold 2-4 people. The floors are concrete or wood, the bathroom and showers may be in your room or they could be in a separate bathhouse area (bring your own toilet paper). Some cabañas have hot water and many do not.


Experience Back-to-Nature Tent Camping

Bring your own tents and we will provide the outdoor areas for camping. Some places have a small nightly charge and at some places you can camp for free. However, the "free" places usually do not have any amenities like washrooms or showers.
